There is much to see and understand in Granada, but the Alhambra is surely the highlight.

In order to guarantee the conservation of the monument as well as a visit of quality, the Patronato de la Alhambra has limited the number of tickets to 7.700 a day, so the booking of tickets is very advisable. You can reserve on internet www.alhambra-tickets.es or at any branch of La Caixa.

The Alhambra tour usually takes about 2 h:30'- 3:00 hrs, including the visit to the uncomparable nasrid palace. The sultans of Granada, built on the top of the "red hill" the fabulous Generalife gardens and the impressive Charles V Palace, added by the emperor as a symbol of the victory on Islam, after 781 years of Arab rule.

A second visit is recommended, as a complement or alternative to the Alhambra. This consist of a walking tour to the old Moorish quarter of the Albaicín, you will get carried away to the mediaeval Granada in its winding and narrow streets.

You will also be able to take the best picture in Granada and probably, one of the best in the world, from the mirador of San Nicolas: the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background.

Once back in the city center, the tour would ends in the Royal Chapel, burial place for Isabella and Ferdinand the catholic Monarchs, one of the most historical sites in Spain.
